Referee in Chief - Phil Linklater

The basic role of the official can be broken down into two simple words –safe and fair.

Welcome to the 2016/2017 Season. I hope you are all well rested and ready for another exciting year officiating with Semiahmoo MHA. Please contact me if you are planning to return as an official so I can determine how many new officials we will require for the upcoming year. This is extremely important as we will have to determine (based on these responses, how many new officials we will need for this season).

New Officials: Even though Semiahmoo MHA has a very high retention rate for officials, if you know someone interested in becoming a referee, please have them e-mail Semiahmoo Referee in Chief, Phil Linklater below.

The certification process for new officials under 16 is different and I will be directly contacting new officials as to where and when the clinic will be this September.

Returning Officials: The links for some certification clinics will soon be posted on the BC Hockey Clinics Website and check back regularly, because ones in Surrey and Burnaby are often added in late August or early September. All returning officials must attend one of these clinics. If you are over 16, you can register for level 2 certification. You must be certified each year through BC Hockey to officiate with SEMI Hockey.

This <link here> should answer any questions you have. Remember certification is the Responsibility of BC Hockey and if you have any questions/concerns, you should contact BC Hockey directly.

Looking forward to another great year!

Phil Linklater, RIC Semiahmoo MHA
